  5. Who does the FDLE notify in the State of Florida that the criminal history record in my case was expunged or sealed?

13. Who does the FDLE notify in the State of Florida that the criminal history record in my case was expunged or sealed?

Once the petition to expunge or seal a criminal history record is granted by the court, a certified court order is provided to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) by the clerk of courts.

In turn, the FDLE complies with the court order to expunge or seal the criminal history record by physically destroying or making confidential the criminal history record.

After that, the FDLE will send all of the law enforcement and criminal justice agencies which were involved in your case a notification letter, informing the agencies that the FDLE has received and complied with the order to either expunge or seal the criminal history record.
