Step 4 – Send Notices that the Criminal History Record has been Ordered Expunged or Sealed by the Court:

 

    • Once the court grants the petition, the Clerk of Court then forwards copies of the court’s order to expunge or seal the criminal history record to all relevant criminal justice agencies, advising that the record is now a confidential nonpublic-record and that the record must be dealt with according to the court order.
    • It is important to note that as part of the most basic fees involved in expunging or sealing a criminal record, each Circuit’s Clerk of Court has a different rate for copies sent to the various criminal justice agencies.
